Ceramic tape casting
Ceramic tape is based material for the production of ceramic substrates. Its characteristic feature is flexibility and machinability.
The whole of the production process stars with materials preparation where particular additives are mixed in accurate ratios and milled in ball mills. After addition of binders and thinners ceramic suspension is created. This suspension is casted on plastic film in casting line and then dried. Solvent vapours condense in a freezing unit and can be used again which helps the environment. The dried ceramic tape is then cut to strips of the dimensions wanted and wound up on a spool for further processing.
